Description
Balance of fruit and minerality, of Carignan and Grenache, fleshy and vegetal freshness. Harmony between fruits of the two large estates, Mas Alsera in Torroja and Sant Martí in Bellmunt: a link between the rural center and the south warm of the region. All this is Rocafosca, our best wine representative and the reference to understand the personality of Coasts of the Priorat. A friendly and honest welcome.
ELABORATION
Manual selection, grain by grain. Indigenous yeasts of the vine. Vinification is carried out in stainless steel tanks and cement vats with a part of the grapes destemmed and a small part with their pomace. Each variety is vinified separately in order to obtain the maximum expressive potential of each grape. Aging takes place for one year in 3,000 liter Slavonian (Croatia) oak vats and amphorae.
TASTING NOTE
The world of colors and aromatic sensations that we find walking along any path in the Priorat is concentrated in this wine that is the mirror of our region. Dark red, depth, energy and the wisdom of selected coasts. In the mouth it is complex, bringing together ripe fruit, memories of the Mediterranean scrub and also a characteristic sharp and cold note, a sign of the extreme minerality of the licorice soils.
GASTRONOMY
Grilled meats – lamb, Iberian pork, beef and veal – represent the ideal harmony of this wine. But there are other, less obvious options. For example, it goes very well with creamy dishes with a certain contribution of fat. From mushroom cannelloni to a tuna-based stew or a classic risotto.
